Josh is king of the dad jokes and likes to bring a bit of fun to everything he does. A lifelong teacher and lecturer, he never planned to be in management. But with a background in art history, performing arts, and visual media, bridging the gap between education and creativity in this role makes sense. And he’s a natural when it comes to supporting tutors across bootcamps and apprenticeships,
developing courses that the industry really needs, and ensuring that every student gets the most out of MUTI Live.

Learning should be enjoyable, human and full of those moments where something just clicks.

“I’m really passionate about the arts. Since I was a kid, I’ve acted in plays, directed and produced them. I still do. It’s all about storytelling and connection – and when you think about it, teaching isn’t that different. And I can’t imagine ever not being involved in teaching and education – that’s where my heart is. What I love about MUTI Live, is how we’re able to create spaces for people to come and learn things
they really want to do – and they can do it for free, or even get paid in the case of an apprenticeship. Or sometimes we help people who’ve been in the business a while take a step back and think about why they do what they do. That’s just as important. I think a bit of humour goes a long way. Learning should be enjoyable, human and full of those moments where something just clicks. And here’s what makes me most proud. When our learners finish their training, that’s not the end of our relationship. That’s when we pull out all the stops to help
them find work so they can put it into practice. I think that says it all.”
