Damien’s the calm in the middle of the admin storm, keeping everything running behind the scenes. Over the years, he’s worked in retail, hospitality, events and security – but it’s the number crunching work he loves the best. So when he’s processing learner records and funding claims, booking spaces or solving last-minute logistical puzzles, that’s when he’s in his element.
When it comes to a challenge: bring it on. Who wants to permanently live their life in the comfort zone?
“I know it’s some people’s idea of hell, but I’ve always liked admin – I’m not sure why. I think I’m very much a problem solver. I like order, getting things done, and ticking jobs off a list. I find that really satisfying. The jobs most people find boring are usually the ones I like the best. Give me a spreadsheet, some music on my headphones, and I’m happy.
My last admin job was in a very corporate environment, but MUTI Live is a million miles away from that. There’s a really laid-back, creative vibe here. And although I’m working behind the scenes, it’s great to be a part of something that’s helping other people get work in a place where they feel at home.
If you asked me what sort of person I am, I’d probably describe myself as a social introvert – happy working on my own, but also the one cracking a daft joke to cheer everyone up. I’m usually pretty calm, even in stressful situations – so hopefully, I bring a bit of balance too.
