This fully funded Skills Bootcamp is tailored for people who want to start in, or further their knowledge of, working on large scale outdoor events/ festivals. Working with experts in the industry, it covers everything from programming, to on site production, ticketing and budgeting.
FESTIVAL WORKFORCE WITH TEAM LOVE
KEY INFORMATION:
Weeks: wc 20th Jan - w/c 24th March
Start Date: Tuesday 21st Jan, running for 10 week
Time: 9.30 - 1.30 each Tuesday, then 2 hours online learning on Thursday evening
Venue: TBC, central Bristol and fully accessible
Full Fee: Free
Level: Level 3
The training will be mostly in person, with online support from your tutor and the MUTI team outside of this.
This is a level 3, entry level course based on IfATE accredited occupational standards, the aim is that you gain new skills, understanding of the sector and are supportedt into new work.
By completing this program you will be well-prepared for sustainable employment opportunities in the industry.

Aged 19 or over
Must have the right to work in the UK
Looking to work in the Bath/ Bristol area and meet residency requirements

Why Festivals/ nighttime events are held, what purpose they serve and how different events are evaluated/ valued Eg. arts festivals, theatre, music gigs
The role of the Promoter/ Producer throughout a project
The importance of licensing, introduction to Temporary Event Notices, Personal Licences and Event Management Plans with local authorities
Each aspect of event logistics: the venue, audience management, transportation, accommodation, catering, ticketing
Intro to key software inc Festival Pro and Our Crew
Understanding Audiences and marketing plans for an event
Site management and site planning - understanding site plans
Introduction to Artist Advancing & Artist Liaison
How event logistics impact on the smooth running of an event.
Understand how a Festival budget is constructed and managed
The importance of audience, client and colleague monitoring and feedback – dealing with it and using it to improve.
The programme also includes modules on your personal development and wrap around guidance and advice on getting paid work after the training.
You will need access to a computer and an internet connection to be able to access the course resources and attend the online sections of the course.
As this is a level 3 course, a proven interest in the subjects will be required and we’ll carry out an initial assessment of your learning style to tailor the course to your requirements.
