Free training for event producers!
Muti are working with Watershed to offer a 9 week course in producing events for the creative industries.
Covering topics such as the life cycle of an event, budgeting, evaluation and fundraising, this course will be a chance to take your producing skills to the next level.
Alongside the learning, you will meet and hear from professionals in the sector and widen your industry networks.
The training will also include career coaching and self development modules.

Level: Level 3
The training will be mostly in person, with online support from your tutor and the Muti team outside of this.
This is a level 3 course, meaning that the teaching level is similar to A levels.
This isn’t an accredited course, the aim is that you gain new skills, understanding and employment.
By completing this program, you will be well-prepared for sustainable employment opportunities in the industry.
Eligibility
Aged 19 or over
Must have the right to work in the UK
Live in the Bath/ Bristol area and meet residency requirements
Overview of Course Content:
Why arts/ creative events are held, what purpose they serve and how different events are evaluated/ valued
The role of a producer and respective roles of different functions: logistics, production, creative and design in event management; what each area is responsible for and how they contribute to the successful delivery of an event.
An introduction to regulations and policies that are relevant to Creative producer job role - eg EDI, Health and Safety, Safeguarding
Working in a team - leadership styles that you will encounter.
Question effectively to ensure understanding of what is required from artists, clients or colleagues.
Ways of working - being employed vs working freelance
The role of creative producer in bringing an understanding of audiences to a project - from planning to marketing and delivery
Contributing to project plans and written presentations.
How event logistics impact on the smooth running of an event.
Understand how an event budget is constructed and managed.
Understand the basics of fundraising
The importance of audience, client and colleague monitoring and feedback – dealing with it and using it to improve.
You will need access to a computer and an internet connection to be able to access the course resources and attend the online sections of the course.
As this is a level 3 course, some relevant experience will be required and we’ll carry out an initial assessment of your learning style to tailor the course to your requirements.
