We are committed to fostering talent and providing hands-on learning opportunities. We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Theatre & Event Technician Apprentice.

Position Overview:

The Theatre & Live Events Technician Apprentice will work closely with our experienced technicians and production team to gain practical experience in setting up, operating, and maintaining audio, visual, lighting, and staging equipment for live events. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about pursuing a career in event technology to learn from industry professionals and develop essential skills.

Responsibilities:

● Assist in the setup, installation, and testing of audio, visual, lighting, and staging equipment under the guidance of experienced technicians, ensuring functionality and quality.

● Learn to operate and troubleshoot various equipment such as mixing consoles, lighting fixtures, projectors, microphones, speakers, and other audiovisual gear.

● Support the technical team in performing sound checks, lighting adjustments, and video/audio playback tests during event preparation and execution.

● Aid in the rigging and de-rigging of equipment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.

● Assist with equipment maintenance, ensuring proper storage, organisation, and upkeep to keep gear in optimal condition.

● Shadow senior technicians during events, providing on-site support and assisting with resolving technical issues as they arise.

● Collaborate with the team to contribute ideas and learn about different aspects of live event production.

● Learn to coordinate and communicate effectively with other technicians and crew members to ensure a cohesive and synchronised production.

● Help maintain and organise equipment inventory, ensuring all gear is properly stored, maintained, and in good working condition.

● Adhere to safety regulations and protocols for all equipment operation and setup.

● To work closely with designers and production staff to ensure the highest possible standards are met.

Requirements:

● A strong interest in pursuing a career in live event technology and a passion for audiovisual equipment and production.

● A basic understanding of audio, visual, & lighting equipment.

● An interest in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting audio, visual, lighting, and staging equipment.

● Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn from experienced professionals.

● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow instructions, and adapt to changing priorities.

● Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.

● To be able to be client facing and professionally presented at all times.

● Physical capability to lift and move equipment as needed.

● Clean driving licence and own transport are essential due to company location.

● Computer literate and familiar with basic word processing and spreadsheets.

● Good problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

● An interest in working as a Live Events Technician or in a similar role within the events industry.
